Over the past 30 years we have forged close links with foundries around the globe, who produce both Investment Castings and castings by other processes including Sand Casting, Gravity Die Casting and Pressure Die Casting. Using our contacts we offer a wide range of cast parts at competitive prices.

We offer comprehensive and rigorous inspection of all cast parts, which can be both at the foundry prior to despatch, and in the UK prior to onward despatch to the customer. Using the very latest in communication technology, we are in constant contact with our supplying foundries, and provide 24-7 precise casting progress updates as required. We specialise in a no nonsense supply approach, meaning accurate information and a reliable service.

Investment Cast Components Sourcing and Supply

We specialise in supplying Investment Castings to meet the most demanding applications.

From our partner foundry in India we supply Investment Cast Parts in a full range of Steel, Aluminium and Yellow Metals. Why not take advantage of our 30 years experience, and instead of going everywhere for a quote, simply come to us, and let us get you a competitive offer, at the right price, and to the right delivery schedule.

The Benefits Of Investment Casting

The Investment Casting Process offers numerous advantages over the alternatives of forging, sand casting, fabrication and machined from bar stock components -- these include:

Freedom of design
Near net shapes from direct from the investment casting Dimensional tolerances of ± 0.13 per 25.0mm can often remove the requirement for machining Total production flexibility, accommodating both high and low volume production runs, giving a cost saving through reduced material usage and machining requirements.

These inherent advantages of the investment casting process, linked with the extensive knowledge Mayo Engineering Ltd has built up from 30 years casting experience, enables our customers to have a unique opportunity to place casting orders with us, in the confidence that their demands will be met promptly, efficiently and economically.

Mayo Engineering already successfully manage the supply of investment cast parts to many customers. This gives our customers the benefits of a well managed supply chain, with low cost manufacturing, stringent quality control, all through an established manufacturer of high quality investment castings, backed by the considerable technical process experience Mayo Engineering can offer.

In addition to Investment Castings, we can also supply a wide range of Sand, Gravity Die, and Pressure Die Cast parts. Through our extensive network of contacts in Eastern Europe, India and Asia, we can source pretty well any type, quantity and complexity of casting.

We know the foundry industry inside out, so the next time you need castings, why not come to the one stop shop and take advantage of our extensive industry knowledge and wealth of contacts.

In brief the metals we can offer castings in are as listed below:-

Aluminium Castings

Aluminium is a strong, durable and lightweight metal that can be used for a wide variety of applications ranging from chemical and food applications through to engine cylinder blocks, heads, automotive wheels and decorative applications. The wide variety of aluminium casting alloys available, allows a good selection of materials with high strength and corrosion resistance, along with other special properties The castings we supply are generally supplied to one of the conditions below, this is as specified by our customer.

The selection of the correct heat treatment can in many cases, greatly improve the mechanical properties of the material. Should you wish to receive more information on the pros and cons of the different heat treatments, please get in touch. Mayo Engineering Ltd can supply Aluminium castings in all BS1490 grades from LM0 through to LM30 along with many of the BS L Aerospace alloys. If you have a requirement for a different grade of Aluminium, please enquire, as it is often possible for ingots to be manufactured to meet a customer’s specifications.

Steel Castings

Steel is the most versatile and widely used of all structural engineering materials, it therefore follows that more grades of steel are available for casting, than any other type of alloy. We can supply steel castings that range in size from a few grams to several tons.

Steel castings are often used in critical situations where optimum mechanical properties are essential, the most of the typical uses include:

Mayo Engineering Ltd can supply Steel Castings in the following types:

Iron Castings

Cast iron is used in a wide variety of engineering, structural and decorative applications, this is due to it being relatively inexpensive, durable and easily cast into a variety of shapes. Being the original cast material from the Industrial Revolution, it still has characteristics that are unavailable in other types of cast metal.

Typical uses here include:

Many iron castings can be used without heat treatment “as-cast” but, depending on the final component application, when needed, iron castings can be heat treated to enhance the overall properties or the localised properties such as in the case of surface hardness The chemical analysis of cast iron castings, can be modified as and if required to provide improved special properties such as in the case of corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, wear or abrasion resistance.

As with steel castings we are able to offer cast iron castings from a few grams up to several tons in weight Mayo Engineering Ltd are able to supply all of the following basic types of cast iron, in a number of grades, with widely differing mechanical properties:

In conclusion, if you have a need for cast components, contact us, you will find our service professional, fast and on time. We are here to help, however tough the application may seem
